About Barbara
A classically trained pianist who played Carnegie Hall at age four, Barbara Bleier has been a musician her entire life. Over time her resume has expanded to include singer, actor, writer and Doctor of Clinical Psychology. Her background as both an actor and psychologist has enabled her to plumb the depths of the characters she brings to life in song, theatre and film with insight, understanding and empathy. Barbara’s performances with longtime collaborator Austin Pendleton have won critical praise for their on-stage rapport and savvy choice of material. A writer with a passion for illuminating the issues facing women, she has written numerous plays, short stories and articles.
